We highly recommend our slider didgeridoo for beginner, intermediate and advanced players alike. It has superior sound quality due to its heavy duty large bore construction and 4.5" bell. It plays the 6 most popular keys of the didgeridoo F,E,D,C,B,and A. Easy to play, light, compact and durable! Beginners can try out different keys to help get their first tone. There is also excellent backpressure for learning to circular breathe. It has exceptional vocals and full range harmonics for an intense sound. Advanced players will love the sound quality and versatility of being able to match pitch with anyone's didgeridoo. Our exclusive locking feature ensures that you won't fall out of pitch while jamming. It also allows you to change pitch while playing! Pitch changes are achieved with a unique seal for smooth airtight slide action.

This is my second order from TDS. I also have the travel collapsible plastic model. So ordered this one based on my success with the other model for students and ease of carrying around.
The keys are accurate and range from A# to F. I've been wanting this option for a long time to carry less & have more keys to play in with other musicians. Plus it's light weight and almost impossible to break. The wood pro slider didge's elsewhere are nice, but let's get practical: They are quite expensive, and require gasket replacement fairly often and maintenance kits. Unless it's for a "proper" studio environment...this model will suffice for most average gigs just as well & sounds fine. In fact, the subtleties of authentic termite hollowed instruments get lost anyhow when you are playing live with other musicians. Only soloing will really allow you to hear true subtle advanced technique in most live settings with other instruments.
For well under $100 USD, I got a model that sounds FAR better than I expected it to! It has the typical response of a PVC or plastic model with a 'somewhat' bigger boar than many synthetics and a large bell at the end....so the bass is quite excellent in comparison to many other synthetics.
I've been playing close to 20 years....so I can be a harsh critic - as I own many varying instruments in my collection. But for the price of this, you simply can't go wrong! I'd recommend it to beginners, students, and pro's alike. You'll all get a good experience out of it. Beginners will like it's ease to play and better responsiveness than smaller synthetics. Pros and more advanced players will LOVE the ability to switch keys on command, with the ability to do some very nice note bending still. Having it start at a true low A instead of A# might be nice. But that's nitpicking now isn't it?
Also because it's lower price point, I have no problem carrying it around anywhere for random playing experiences. You tend NOT to do this with a $1,500.00 authentic instrument. So I now find myself playing with more people randomly and really enjoying it.
The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, was the seal where the bell connects was not fully sealed and leaked, so I had to buy some epoxy to seal it up properly. Not the end of the world.
Do yourself a favour.....just order one.

This is the second didge that I have and doesn't provide the same tone quality as wood (by my audible comparison at least), but for practicing tones, sounds, and breathing, it's an extraordinary value. When adding the slide (whether just playing with it loose or actually in a fixed key), this becomes a very strong tool for learning the effects of different keys on the pressure and frequency of your breathing.

I got this didge yesterday in the mail. I was expecting a so-so multi key didge. I mainly got it so I could try new keys easily. But it is excellent!! I have a couple of guitar center didges, it is tons better than them. I also have a pro made didge that cost me almost 3 times as much as this slider didge. The slider didge sounds just as good and actually trumpets better. It has super volume as well. seems way durable too. I wasn't expecting to write any review when I ordered this, but it really goes WAY past what I was expecting. In B or C it actually sounds and plays better than any of my others. even the more expensive one. Once you get past that its pvc, which in itself isn't bad, just not "natural", I really like it. I'd like another to keep at work for lunchtime playing, without toting it back and forth, all around super didge, and I'm picky.

The slider didge that I recently purchased is awesome! It's easy to play and being able to change the key is a VERY convenient feature. Basically I have seven instruments in one.

I found it very easy to produce a consistent even drone. I am still working on circular breathing for which the training videos and exercises have been very helpful. I gave it four stars because my limited experience with other digeridoos. I have tried one other, various tubular objects around the house, and a vacuum hose...none made it easier to produce decent sound.

I bought the adjustable instrument to help me make decisions about future purchases. Its great to be able to hear the different keys and how they affect the playability.
